Departure
Depart on your overnight flight to Italy. Your adventure begins the moment you board.
Arrival in Rome
Arrive in the Eternal City and ease in with an afternoon through the Piazza di Spagna, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, then transfer by private coach to your hotel.
Rome and Vatican City
A full day among Rome’s great monuments. Visit Vatican City for St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Peter’s Square, then a panoramic tour taking in the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Circus Maximus. Entry to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum is included.
Florence
A morning train to Florence, cradle of the Renaissance. See the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria, then wander the medieval streets past the Uffizi Gallery. Your evening is free.
Pisa, Padua and Venice
Travel by private coach to Pisa for the Piazza dei Miracoli and the famous Leaning Tower. Continue through northern Italy to Padua for a stop near the Basilica of Saint Anthony, arriving in Venice in the evening.
Venice
Discover Venice on foot and by boat. See St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs, then follow the canals to the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal. Glide through the quiet waterways aboard a traditional gondola.
Verona, Lake Garda and Milan
Depart for Verona to see Juliet’s House, Piazza delle Erbe and the Roman Arena. Continue to Sirmione on Lake Garda for its medieval castle and lakeside views, arriving in Milan in the evening.
Milan and into Switzerland
A morning in Milan including the Duomo, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and Sforza Castle. Continue through the Alps into Switzerland, stopping in Lucerne for the Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument before arriving in Zurich.
Zurich
A full day walking tour through Zurich’s Old Town and along Lake Zurich, followed by a tour and tasting at the Lindt Home of Chocolate.
Into Germany
Depart Zurich and journey into Germany, pausing in Heidelberg and Frankfurt and taking in Erfurt’s medieval old town, the Merchants’ Bridge and Erfurt Cathedral, before arriving in Berlin to overnight.
Berlin
A panoramic tour of Berlin including the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, Berlin Cathedral and the grand Unter den Linden boulevard.
Berlin in depth
A full day in the capital at the Berlin Wall Memorial, Checkpoint Charlie, Museum Island and Potsdamer Platz, with Alexanderplatz, the Holocaust Memorial and the Tiergarten.
Berlin at leisure
A free day to explore Berlin your own way, from one last museum to a riverside walk.
